Scott M. Estill is a graduate of the University of Illinois (BA Political Science 1983), the John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois (JD 1988 with High Honors), and is admitted to practice law before the Illinois and Colorado Supreme Courts, along with the United States Tax Court and various United States District Courts. He is a senior partner in Estill & Long, LLC, a Denver-based law firm, and specializes in tax and business entity planning, tax return preparation/planning and the resolution of tax controversies before the IRS and all State Departments of Revenue.

He is a former IRS Senior Trial Attorney in Chicago, IL, and Judicial Clerk in the Illinois Appellate Court. Mr. Estill has also written several books on taxes, including Tax This! An Insider’s Guide to Standing up to the IRS (Self Counsel Press; Seventh Edition January 2010), The Real Estate Investor’s Tax Edge (John Wiley and Sons- First Edition November 2009), The Tax Deduction Business Kit (Tax Strategies and Solutions Ltd., First Edition January 2010), and The Tax Compliance Guide for Small Businesses (Tax Strategies and Solutions, Ltd. Sixth Edition January 2009). He has been a frequent guest speaker on National and Local radio and television shows on tax matters and the IRS, as well as instructing at numerous colleges and universities throughout the United States, along with numerous private business seminars.
